Ebates Survey: Half of American Men Think Mom Wants Roses or Jewelry This Mother's Day and They are Wrong!

SAN FRANCISCO - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Ebates.com, the pioneer and leader in online cash back shopping, today announced results from its annual Mother's Day shopping survey that discovered more than half of American men (55 percent) think the mom in their life wants to receive roses, while the #1 item women actually want is a gift card to their favorite store.

The national survey conducted online by TNS Global on behalf of Ebates.com in April 2013 among 1,000 adults learned that mom would also like to receive a spa day, a homemade gift and jewelry. The ranking differs from last year's 2012 Ebates.com Mother's Day survey that previously found women ranked a spa day as their #1 gift of choice.

Half of American men (49 percent) also ranked jewelry as a top gift they believe mom wants for Mother's Day- a gift item that only 1 out of 5 (22 percent) women would actually want to receive.
