Gladney Center for Adoption Celebrates 30,000th Family Created Through Adoption
FORT WORTH, Texas - (BUSINESS WIRE) - The Gladney Center is excited to announce that our 30,000th family is about to be created through the miracle of adoption. This exciting event will take place on December 11, 2012 on Gladney's campus located at 6300 John Ryan Dr., Fort Worth, Texas.
"It's been a year of milestones for the Gladney Center, as we have celebrated our 125th anniversary. However, the most exciting celebration for us is each time we get to help create a new family through the miracle of adoption. From the very first child we placed back in 1887 to this monumental milestone of the 30,000th child in 2012, we feel privileged and humbled to serve birthmothers, adoptive parents, and children around the world. Our work and our dedication will continue for decades to come," said Frank Garrott, President of the Gladney Center for Adoption.
In celebration of this incredible and historic occasion, Gladney is awarding the family a scholarship to utilize for their new baby's college education. In addition, 30,000 bluebonnet seeds will be scattered on Gladney's Bluebonnet Hill. The seeds symbolize Gladney's 30,000 families united through the miracle of adoption. When the seeds bloom in the spring, a sea of beautiful bluebonnets will serve as a reminder of each adoptive family, birthparent, and child Gladney has served over the last 126 years.
