California Representatives Loretta Sanchez and Ed Royce Visit Westwood College and See Hands-On Learning in Action

LOS ANGELES - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Rep. Ed Royce, from California's 40th District in the U.S. House of Representatives and Rep. Loretta Sanchez, from California's 47th District in the U.S. House of Representatives, visited Westwood College recently as part of their ongoing tours of businesses, institutions of higher education and community organizations. The visits by the representatives were intended to help them gain a better understanding of the hands-on education Westwood provides its diverse student body.

"Over the past three years, our institution has made sweeping changes to improve the experience and success of our students, from the time they first inquire about Westwood to the on-campus or online support they receive through graduation and entry into the workforce," said Dean Gouin, chief executive officer of Westwood College. "We were honored to show Rep. Royce and Rep. Sanchez how effectively we serve a nontraditional student body and introduce those students to the individuals who represent them at a national level."

During her Nov. 1 visit, Rep. Sanchez toured Westwood's Los Angeles - Anaheim campus, learned more about the Westwood Success program and spoke with more than 200 students from three different business and criminal justice classes. Rep. Sanchez, who serves on the House Joint Economic Committee, also met with representatives from Masimo Corporation, a global medical technology company that has hired several Westwood graduates, to hear how Westwood prepares students for the workforce.
