MOM Brands Named "Business Partner of the Year" by Columbus Community Center

MINNEAPOLIS - (BUSINESS WIRE) - MOM Brands today announced that its Salt Lake City distribution center was named "Business Partner of the Year" at Columbus Community Center's 7th annual "Dignity Through Work" event. This premier business event recognizes local businesses and individuals for the contributions they have made to support individuals with developmental disabilities so they can find meaningful employment in their community. MOM Brands was recognized for its partnership with Columbus to provide training and employment opportunities at its Salt Lake City facility.

"The MOM Brands partnership allows employees with disabilities to use skills learned at Columbus and refine them in a real-world environment, giving them the confidence to later seek permanent employment," said Gary Knapp, executive director of the Columbus Community Center. "They develop a sense of hope, pride and accomplishment, and MOM Brands is crucial to that success."

For the past six years, MOM Brands has welcomed crews from Columbus to do post-production work, like palate display assembly and operation of scanners and forklifts. While ensuring technical requirements are met, MOM Brands supervisors also take time to interact with the employees and encourage them in their employment journey.
