Frontier Communications Celebrates Veterans and Veterans Day

STAMFORD, Conn. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Frontier Communications Corporation, the largest communications company focused on serving rural America, announced today that it has hired more than 435 veterans since November 2010. Its hiring efforts through the Employer Partnership of the Armed Forces , the 100,000 Jobs Mission, a dedicated website and active recruiting are part of the company's continuing outreach to returning service members and veterans.

According to Maggie Wilderotter, Chairman and CEO of Frontier, "Members of the military have a well-earned reputation for leadership, teamwork, accountability and discipline. In addition, many have been in military roles that complement skill sets Frontier and other companies need, such as information technology, customer service and technical operations." She added, "We are committed to doing all we can to reduce the number of unemployed veterans. It's especially important to give our all during these difficult economic and high-unemployment times. Our military men and women were there for us; it's our turn to be here for them."

In addition, Frontier Communications, in partnership with The History Channel, brought the Take a Veteran to School Day program to Washington state's Picnic Point Elementary School in Edmonds and to Butternut Creek Elementary School in Aloha. As part of the program, students had the opportunity to honor local veterans during each school's Veterans Day Assembly.
