Connecticut Technology Council Honors Emerging Technology Companies for Accomplishments, Potential at Sixth Annual Innovation Summit Awards

HARTFORD, Conn. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Nearly 400 entrepreneurs, investors and service providers gathered on November 1, 2012, at The Omni Hotel in New Haven for the Sixth Annual Innovation Summit Awards, a celebration of 75 of the most promising early stage and emerging technology companies in Connecticut identified by the Connecticut Technology Council (CTC) as having the best potential to be a successful enterprise.

The 2012 CTC event, produced in concert with the Crossroads Venture Group, featured panel discussions of "Tech All-Stars," who covered such topics as "Determining the Real Market for Your Product" and "Building a Great Start-Up Team." The Tech All-Star panelists included some of the most state's successful technology entrepreneurs, who offered advice to the start-ups during an interactive question and answer period. The 75 "Tech Companies to Watch" interacted with attendees at a poster fair during the day.

As part of the Awards presentations, Kip Bergstom, Deputy Commissioner of the State Department of Economic and Economic Development, introduced the managers the of the State's recently launched four Innovation Hubs. The Hubs will offer an array of services to technology start-ups and Stage II companies out of offices in Hartford, New Haven, Stamford and Storrs. The Hub initiative stems from the economic development efforts of Governor Molloy's administration.
